Prof. Dr. Alev Fatoş PARSA The project titled “A Research on an Interactive Documentary Production Model: The Case of Efeler Yolu”, conducted under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Alev Fatoş Parsa, Dean of Ege University (EÜ) Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture (GSTMF), with Dr. Elçin As, faculty member of GSTMF, serving as researcher, is currently ongoing. Within the scope of the project, students of EÜ GSTMF experienced an interactive film through virtual reality headsets during a project event. - The interactive documentary project ideas of Prof. Dr. Alev Fatoş Parsa and our Research Assistant Dr. Elçin As, considered among the first examples of their kind in Türkiye, were awarded scientific research support by the Ege University Aliye Üster Foundation and subsequently qualified as finalists in the 24th İzmir Short Film Festival İzmir Film Lab competition. - The book titled “Film Çözümlemeleri 2”, edited by Prof. Dr. Alev Fatoş Parsa and Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Elçin As, has been published by Doruk Yayınları. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Prof. Dr. Cem GÜZELOĞLU Within the scope of the Interuniversity Council Art Branches Education Council Meeting, hosted by Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University between 15–22 November 2024, our Vice Dean and faculty member of the Department of Visual Communication Design, Doç. Dr. Cem Güzeloğlu, participated in the group exhibition with his digital illustration titled “Kavuşum.” https://sanal-sergi.msgsu.edu.tr/sdek-bulusma-sergisi- As part of the Erasmus+ projects funded by the European Union French National Agency and conducted by the French organization Domoliris, the project titled “Perform Handicap Digital Inclusion” (PHANDI) held its second meeting in Trani (Puglia), Italy, between 17–24 September 2023. Our Vice Dean and faculty member of the Department of Visual Communication Design, Doç. Dr. Cem Güzeloğlu, took part in the project as both trainer and participant. The meeting, structured around training sessions integrating body, mind, and personal identity through art therapy, was completed through interactive collaboration among French, Italian, and Turkish participants. - ------------------------------------------------------------------ Asst. The film titled “Playback,” directed by Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Onur Orkan Akşit and completed with the support of the İzmir Film and Music Festival, has received 12 awards in international competitions.

------------------------------------------------------------------ Asst. Prof. Dr. Elçin AS In 2023, Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Elçin As qualified as a finalist in the 24th International İzmir Short Film Festival İzmir Film Lab competition with the project titled “Efeler Yolu Interactive Documentary.” -
In 2022, she was awarded First Prize in the Social Sciences Category at the “Aegean Region R&D Project Idea Competition,” organized within the scope of the Aegean Region Career Fair.

Our Faculty Research Assistant Elçin Akçora As received a grant for the project titled “Tell Your Story, Create Your Animation” within the scope of Pegasus Airlines’ “We Are Flying to the Future” project, successfully passing both the technical pre-evaluation and jury assessment stages. The project was coordinated by the Support Foundation for Civil Society and implemented by the Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG). In April 2019, the project team conducted a Stop Motion Animation Film Workshop with students at Dergili Secondary School in the Dergili neighborhood of Halfeti district, Şanlıurfa.

The first solo exhibition of Doç. Dr. Damla İşbilen, titled “Republic’s 100th Anniversary Monument Design Exhibition,” was held on 5 December 2023 at the 50. Yıl Köşkü Exhibition Hall. -
Within the scope of the Troya Culture Route Festival organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, Öğr. Gör. Dr. Damla İşbilen participated with her work in the physical and digital exhibition titled “Sentez İzler,” organized by Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Fine Arts with the participation of members of the Interuniversity Council Art Branches Education Council. -

The exhibition of the project titled “Bir Mahallenin Hafızası: Kale” opened on 2 November in Bergama. In the section titled “Bir Mahallenin Keşfi,” participants conveyed their walking experiences in Kale Neighborhood through fanzines and photographic works using methods of psychogeography based on sensory perception and experience. In the section titled “Bir Mahallenin Kayıtları,” which aimed to build a bridge of memory between the past and present of the neighborhood through photography and oral history studies, nine street monographs and eight portrait stories produced over a three-month period were exhibited. |
